In a speech before students of Hampton University, President of the United States, Barack Obama warned of the effect caused by the strikes various gadgets in the realm of modern media. Gadget judged to make the younger generation 'stupid' for being out of focus with the information submitted.
According to him, today he called the iPad and Xbox era, there has been transfer of information that can menimbukan a new tension in an atmosphere of democracy.
"With the iPod, iPad, Xbox and PlayStation, which I did not know how to play it, the information turned into a distraction and a form of entertainment, rather than become a tool of empowerment or emancipation," he told the audience as quoted from the AFP on Monday (10 / 5 / 2010).
In his speech, Obama clearly stated its concern about the quality and direction of the information now disseminated through the magic of technology.
"You are in environments where the media bombard us during 24 hours every day, with a variety of content and all sorts of arguments. Some are not always right," he explained.
All this, he added, not only will cause new pressures on each individual, but also creates new pressures on state and life
democracy in his country.
Obama insinuated that the media spread the news more often than the issues surrounding political chaos of other, more important, like education.
"We can not stop this change, but we can adapt," he asserted.
